Creative Mufti Day (2008)

Imagine walking into your work place or school and seeing the Chief Financial Officer wearing fairy wings?
Then you notice the HR department dressed in the colours of the rainbow.
And the marketing team have come to work dressed Hawaiian...

That’s what the office at Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) looked like at our last ‘Creative Mufti Day’.

Will you join us in 2008?

May is an important month in the Autism Spectrum Australia calendar. As a part of the Autism Month program of activities with the theme ‘Creative Futures’, we will be raising awareness for autism spectrum disorders around Australia and raising much needed support to finance the many services we provide to those in need.

Did you know that approximately 1 child in every 160 has autism in some form? This is one of the key findings of the first comprehensive Australian study on the prevalence of autism across Australia recently released by the Australian Advisory Board on Autism Spectrum Disorders. That equates to 10,625 children and as many as 125,000 people of all ages living in Australia.

Please help us raise awareness of autism by holding a ‘Creative Mufti Day’ in your workplace or school. It’s not difficult to organise and very easy to encourage even the most un-creative individuals to wear crazy socks, a mad hat or even a mask. We can supply a comprehensive information kit that’s full of ideas and contains everything you need to get started.

Please consider taking part in the 2008 Creative Mufti Day and help us to create a better future for the 5,000 people with autism whom we support each year.

If now is not a good time for you to get involved or you have an even better way of raising awareness and financial support, we would love to hear from you.
