Autism: a different world

Communicating with others is something that most of us take for granted. We don’t know exactly how we learn this skill, but every day our lives are enriched by our ability to communicate. Social interaction brings us great joy through our friendships and our family lives.

But for a person living with an autism spectrum disorder, communication doesn’t come naturally and the sights, sounds and exchanges of the world around them are frequently overwhelming.

Can you imagine a child who is not blind, but cannot understand what he sees?
Who is not deaf, but cannot comprehend what he hears?
Who is isolated from the world, because he cannot make any sense of it?

Diagnosed as a specific neurological disorder in the 1950s, many aspects of autism still remain a puzzle.

Let us introduce you to the world of autism
